And now it gets really terrible.Part two... Fruit Parfait style.
Well, on the bright side, you guys seemed to be very charmed by my FP team, so... have some more of that!
This dump... is to date the longest sketchdump I've ever made, at 11,762 pixels long. I usually save my dumps as PNGs (which is why they take five years to load, I'm sorry) but doing so made this one 10MB so I had to turn to Jpeg as my savior. It actually turned out ok though! Now there is a feat I should be proud of but I'm not sure I can be because its goddamn mewmews again. But ahh... I brought this on myself. It's my birthday so I'll let it slide.
So with that... I'm fresh out of mewmew for a little while. Thanks for looking though, hope you enjoyed the spam of magical girls at least a little! X//D;
I actually have more magical girls in my next general sketch dump but I'll save that for later this month haahahahahaa....

Shes such a cutie, I love the Ringo-ish white fluffy bits (if that makes sense to a fellow mew connosieur and the anntennae are fantastic, I wonder how flexible they are and whether they move according to her emotions or to sense things around her? Sorry to pry, but I'm quite interested.
Its always a pain with weird animals, like an Oarfish or Newt or Hermit Crab or anything not particularly fluffy XD, to design something new but it's well worth it. I'm redesigning my old Mew Niku (beef) to an african wild dog from a fox and it's surprising how much I've seen which has been done already 0-0
There are mews hiding all over my notebooks at school - I'm glad I haven't grown out of it yet, it's very theraputic, you can never have too many mews 8D

A Hermit crab mew sounds absolutely PRECIOUS, ahhh! I love the idea of the wild dog as well, I've gone through the fox-mew phase myself too. It's crazy how many ideas people have already done @___@ The combinations are endless!

I liked lettuce's 'antennae', their seems to be a top and tail rule for the mews that if she was missing them it would look a little odd; I think Mew Blueberry is a fantastic design, I look forward to seeing some more if you feel another dump or sketch on the way! The weapon looks interesting too, I'm fond of using music themed weapons.
I concur! I'm too far into the mew-dom I can't really find people to discuss which side of the attack names debate etc so I'm glad you're indulging me XDDD. Have you seen any of the new translatiosn by kodansha?
I might upload my college doodles one day and theres a picture of this here Mew Coconut - the main problem was where to locate the shell so I decided to go for a shell-shield type thing... I think way too hard about the designs sometimes XDDD
Why thank you, wild dogs are very cute and its much fun to draw the ears and tail~ I always find sticking with a theme is the best way around it and going outside the box if I'm brave!

Me too! I was actually trying to figure out what her antennae thingies meant while I designed my own, and I honestly think I figured it out. *totally geeking out now okay* I think they added those to represent the porpoise's blowhole, and the water that comes out of it. It makes perfect sense.
I'm about 50/50 on music weapons- Sometimes I think up good ones, but I never have enough for a whole team. X//D; And some just look silly, or are hard to pair up with a more realistic weapon. (Like Zakuro's Whip doubling as a flute, or Minto's Harp/bow and arrow... that was damn clever.) I'm still debating it for this team though, plum and kiwi specifically. Technically, Peach's saber doubles as a conductor's baton, which I borrowed from my old team, and Watermelon's yoyo pieces separate into discs, like cymbals. So I'm still a bit stuck on at least ~trying~ to make the other two's double as instruments somehow. We'll see how that goes!
I don't blame you, ahh! I mean, I really enjoy the comments on my TMM stuff and the discussions, but I'm kind of a chicken to go out and get involved with groups of this fandom. I'd probably just be overwhelmed, I'm not the best group person. @//u//@;; I'm totally in the process of collecting the new translations. Aside from calling her Zacro (an understandable choice, I loved the pun on "zacross whip"... but I'll still use Zakuro out of preference) I am fifty kinds of happy with this re-translation. I had no idea how different they were, since I read Tokyopop's as a kid, or how many times TP cut corners. It's so nice to reread it with a fresh set of editors. @__@
But oh my GOODNESS NO. NO. A Shell-shield is AMAZING. That's WONDERFUL. *applauds* I would looove to see this mew sometime.
And even despite the misspelling, it's endearing that you stuck with it. Not directly TMM related, but I would have completely gone with AibiChan here on DA if it hadn't already been taken, and that's something I'd probably regret about more now than my -Cake ending. (...But only by a slim margin...) And I was 17 when I picked this one.

I never noticed how much little detail was put into the mew team, the music weapons and the midline rule for the marks were two of them. If you're going for music themed all round, maybe go for something not directly an instrument? Like a record or headphones? Too obvious, perhaps...
I had a friend who introduced to me to this and we rarely discuss it (now that I said that, the other day we sorta' freaked out on the discovery of an unread short at the back of 'only one wish' by Ikumi - 3 o 4 pages of chibis... worth it.) It's delightful to chat to you, but I have no idea what it's like to be surrounded by fellow mew mew fans , I can see how it might be a but much to handle, we're a freaky bunch sometimes. XDDD
I'm glad you agree on the Zacro front, but I think their defence might be that it could be a stage name; in the japanese version their names are spelt with either kanji or katakana whether in Mew form or just civilians so their names had a little protection.
It's also spruced up a little and the mini comics are easier to undertsand, I applaud the editors for taking a little more care.
Ok, ok. Minor update to her. Prepare yourself, much nerdy deatils afoot!
She's still a hermit crab (not sure what kind...) but she she no longer has a shield but a net (Coconet cast - managed to fit a pun in there.) I thought it fit with the beach theme and the theme I loosely went with; roman gladiator, but I'm stuck for music now...
To fix the shell problem I've given her a conical, chinese style shell hat with the short stalks for antennae poking through. I did have an idea to attach the net to the back of her hat - like a backwards veil, my only problem is how to make this net "pretty", there's not much you can do with it :/
I also experimented with something to do with the hat being a shell in which she can hear the ocean, but it's all very vague >.<
(I would very much appreciate you're take on this, but I understand if you rather not write up a ridiculously long reply!)

I didn't really realize it either! I could figure out the outfit themes easy, but seeing some breakdowns by fans made me really pay attention more. I feel like the mark locations were generic on purpose, easily seen and appealing and magical, you know, but they ended up all on a mid-line because the outfits were also symmetrical, maybe. Save for Ichigo, anyway. I know her's is technically mid-line, but the placement of it just makes me make faces. But anyway! |':
I'm gonna do more research soon for weapons- I want Kiwi's to be based on a spear of some kind, and Plum's to be the heaviest. So those are my specs for instrument-matching so far.
I totally bought Only One Wish when I found out, and legit imagined Zakuro as the actress through the whole thing. And the comic at the back was so worth it. /GEEKS OUT

OK OK omg. Coconet cast- ADORABLE. Like. That pun speaks for itself. I love that you're making her ENTIRELY beach themed too (coconuts, crabs, nets... I LOVE it. I can only imagine what her uniform is like!) And gladiator sandals could so easily be translated as beachy too... Depending on how many attacks you wanna give her, maybe the net becomes solidified in one version, much like a shield for a roman gladiator. Also, maybe the net could be likened to some kind of unorthodox string instrument... I'd say harp maybe if you don't mind it overlapping Minto's, but there are probably more... *tosses out ideas* But the instrumental factor doesn't need to apply to every team, to be fair, so you could always find another motif to toy with!
Making a net pretty (even as a cute bridal viel) is tough... She doesn't always need it to be present, which helps, but maybe it has a handle she holds onto to "cast" it, and that's where the little emblem heart is. And the net could be sparkly. *fixes it with sparkles* Technically, Zakuro's whip is pretty simple, and the major whip part is summoned temporarily, leaving just the 'flute' piece otherwise. Maybe the handle is standalone until you cast it, where the net appears?
I could totally see her being able to connect with the ocean because of her DNA. I think that's adorable. I think that'd be great ESPECIALLY if she's beachy by nature, possibly, like, a beachcomber, surfer, scuba diver, marine biologist even! Stuff like that! Like, Belle/Blueberry is actually studying insects/is a bug fanatic before her DNA, so her affinity to get THAT beetle DNA seems more "destined." ...*rambles*
I'm curious- is coconut going to be a white/brown (or vice versa) color-schemed mew? And does she have a team?

At the moment I'm caught between the ankle and the centre of the back for my hermit mew (whose name is Jean so far...)
Weaponry research is always the fun part, my boyfriend watched me look up corsets and ribbons and bows and all sorts, he was then intrigued to see me searching up various knives and swords. XD
I remember having an idea for a javalin type weapon that could also be used for pole vaulting, or maybe I just love the idea of roaring and hurling yourself into the air as you hurtle towards them making karate noises? Just me? XDDD
What do you mean by heaviest? Like a huge broad sword or a canon?! 8D
I'm half way through one wish and it's exactly as I expected; Mia Ikumi does horror, it's far too cute to be scary! X3
And I think Ikumi must have envisioned her as the Angel all along, they are fairly similar!

Aw, thanks! Her name's Jean Shes a single mum making a living as a coach at a surf school, I shall post pictures of her shortly (tomorrow, maybe? I have lots of studying to do however.)
I've decided to keep the net tucked away under her hat, thus, this helps with my mini story arc with my mew team. Long story short, she lives on an island but these chimera anima keep showing up consistently there (I'm sure theres a referance to this somewhere in the manga that the alien parasites are attracted to mew aqua etc..) so the remainder of the team investigate, find a mew who covers her face with a hat, she says she refuses to leave the island to protect it (protective and hoarding are her inhereited traits as a hermit crab,) to see her face they provoke her to attack and ergo she takes it off and they somehow manage to track her down and talk her into joining them
For the music, I thought if she had an attack sequence if she threw the hat out and the net splayed out underneath perhaps the lines in the net could act as a stave and notes could appear? Again, a little obscure so I probably won't include it.

I agree with you there, Jean/Coconut's lived on this island all her life so shes a little sheltered, protective and quiet (not necessarily shy, shes a shouty mum/teacher she might have to be provoked, like a poking a crab shell might get you nipped on the fingers XD) it also explains why she first hides away from her new powers ... -wafflewaffle-
And now I've just envisioned Belle with an oversized lab coat and goggles, curses! Shes just so charming! >3<
I'm not entirely sure, but sandy brown, peachy red or dark coconut brown with white seem to be the top two choices, however, I prefer sandy coloured but dark brown/white makes more sense! Hmmm..... it also conflicts with my tufted deer mew...
Her team consists of a newt, a platypus, a tufted deer and a wolverine - but they might be tweaked :3
...This took much longer than anticipated... WORTH IT.
