you come in wavesat first,
theres only a lull.
shielded by glimpses
of peace and reassurance
i am blinded
and a wave
comes towering over me
collapsing violently on to me
pulling me under and under.
tugging at my roots
twirling me in every direction
draining me of life
stealing my hope.
this over powering wave
holds me in place
taking me further
and further away
nearly leaving lifeless.
and still i remember
at the end of the day
it is you.
even when you hurt me
