Evidently, the part of the spell they had missed, was the time it took for the shadow tentacles to manifest and complete the requested task. After the first time of saying the incantation and then requesting what they wanted, they waited for a minute. Nothing happened. "Burkisa Maxum Delagros Zu! I want a shadow tentacle to crawl in and out of my navel." They said again. Nothing. Out of frustration, they repeated the spell a few dozens more times. Just as they finished the last variation of their request, a black, shadow tentacle appeared. They were excited at first as it started to crawl towards their navel, but they another one appeared. As the one began to slither in, so did the other. They gasped at the sensation and groaned as yet another appeared and pushed itself in. They belly began to swell as more and more tentacles appeared and slither into their body. They shook, gasping and groaning at each tentacle that wriggled its way in. As their teacher would have warn them, "patience is everything". Now, of course, all they could do is watch and hope that the next tentacle would be the last.
