i killed tons with my fist. i have no problem with them, i just put cobblestone in front of me and i don't receive damage and the cobblestone stays there. the ghast's fiery snowballs of death are easily deflected with a punch. so i find them more fun than intimidating.

no. more of ear piercing and very distracting. i mean the first time i saw one i tried hitting it with a sword, it screamed and died, it distracted me making me hold my strafe key, thus plunging me to the nether's never-ending sea of lava.

You need to make one. As far as I know, you can't really find one. You need to find Obsidian, lava + water, make a doorway, and light it on fire with flint and steel. And, boom. Portal. (:

One time, my friend told me about someone who made their house out of wood, and made a nether portal near it or in it, then a ghast came out of the portal and flamered his house.

Yeah, Ghasts can get into the 'real' world through the Nether portal, that's why I make mine in an enclosed stone room, away from my house LOL
