Description
The city Bena Arnutem̃a was part of the Aristocracy of Silva Platea. The was located in the Continent's southern region. Contrary to many Eleven cities it was not a woodland-city but built in a large clearing of the Great Greenwood.
It originated as a settlement around the Monastery of Bendicta Arnutem̃a de Barceguna, founded under the influence of Mancian culture. When it's strategic location of two streets' crossing led many merchants, craftspeople and the like to settle down, defensive structures were built with the Aristocracy's permission. The strong circular wall was initially well-capable of keeping in all the town's inhabitants, their work places and the farms. But with continuous growth and Menesks and Twergs settling inside, too, the city had to expand further. To ease the noise complaints, a quarter was founded for the loudest and stinkiest workshops. Due to it reaching its capacities soon, a second such quarter was created outside the original circular wall.
More and more farms, mostly cared for by Menesks were built outside. At some point, the villagers outside the city walls were eager to have fortifications on their side of the river as well, in case they wouldn't be allowed inside the old fortified city. These plans to built a fortress outside of were much to the dismay of the city's council. They foretold that such a position on the other riverbank would provide an excelent point of attack to potential enemies. However, with an ever increasing population outside the walls, eventually a small place was granted.
