Description
During the 2017 Game Awards, Sony announced what the next films in this universe and their respective cast would be, announcing this phase as "Other Societies." As the name suggests, in this new batch of films (and now also series) more societies would be explored besides that of Earth, the most important being the Echidna and the Black Arms.As the Knuckles movie and the series about the echidna society were being planned, the possibility of involving Ken Penders, renowned Sonic Archie writer, in the project was considered. His deep knowledge of the characters and his experience in building the Sonic universe made him an ideal candidate to play a leading role in the development of these new productions.
However, when the opportunity arose, Ken Penders surprised everyone by turning down the role. His decision was driven by deep outrage and disagreement with the direction his characters were taking in the Sonic cinematic universe. Penders openly expressed his frustration at what he considered a lack of respect for his work and an inappropriate manipulation of story elements he had created.
Despite attempts at negotiation and reconciliation, Penders remained firm in his position and decided not to participate in the project. Its rejection left a void in the creative team and posed additional challenges in adapting the characters and stories related to echidna society.
Although his absence was a significant loss to the project, the Knuckles film and the series about the echidna society continued forward with new creative talent, who strove to honor Penders' legacy while exploring new directions for the Sonic universe.
After losing the legal suit against Sega and Archie Comics, and with the rights to his characters now in the hands of Sony, a much larger and more powerful company, Ken Penders was forced to face the reality of the situation. Although he had initially fought vehemently for what he considered an injustice in the management of his creations, the court decision and the change in ownership of the rights left him with no viable options to reverse the situation.
Over time, Ken Penders came to accept that he no longer had control over the fate of his characters and that his efforts to reclaim their rights had reached an impasse. Recognizing the inevitability of the situation, he decided to end his legal battle and find a way to move forward.

In the post-credit scene of "Freedom Fighters: Chaos Unleashed," the camera pans across the vast expanse of space, zooming in on a distant galaxy. Within this galaxy lies a cluster of ominous-looking spacecraft, their sleek, metallic surfaces gleaming in the dim light of the cosmos.
As the camera draws closer, we see that these spacecraft are unlike anything seen before on Earth. They are sleek and menacing, bristling with strange appendages and emitting an eerie energy that crackles through the void of space.
Inside one of the lead spacecraft, a shadowy figure sits upon a throne-like chair, surrounded by a retinue of silent, hooded figures. This figure exudes an aura of power and authority, and their presence commands respect from those around them.
Suddenly, a holographic display flickers to life before the figure, depicting a holographic map of the Milky Way galaxy. With a cold, calculating gaze, the figure studies the map intently, their eyes narrowing with determination.
"We have arrived," the figure declares, their voice tinged with an air of menace. "Prepare the invasion fleet. The time has come to claim what is rightfully ours."
As the holographic display fades to black, the scene ends with a sense of foreboding, hinting at the arrival of a new threat to Earth and setting the stage for the next phase of the Sonic Extended Universe: "Invasions."
In the second post-credit scene of "Freedom Fighters: Chaos Unleashed," the camera shifts to a dimly lit laboratory bathed in the soft glow of computer screens and scientific equipment. At the center of the lab stands Tails, the ingenious young fox and trusted ally of Sonic and the Freedom Fighters.
Tails is engrossed in his work, tinkering away at a sleek, metallic device that hums with otherworldly energy. This device, which Tails has been laboring over for months, represents the culmination of his efforts to create an interdimensional portal capable of exploring other realms beyond their own.
With a determined expression, Tails adjusts a series of dials and switches on the device, carefully calibrating its settings in preparation for a test run. As he activates the machine, a soft whirring fills the air, and a shimmering portal begins to materialize before him.
With a mixture of excitement and trepidation, Tails steps closer to the portal, peering into its depths with wide-eyed wonder. For a brief moment, he catches a glimpse of another world beyond the shimmering veil, a world unlike any he has ever seen before.
In this fleeting instant, Tails glimpses a figure standing on the other side of the portal, a figure cloaked in shadow but radiating an aura of intelligence and power. Though their features are obscured, Tails senses an undeniable presence emanating from this mysterious figure, leaving him with a sense of unease and curiosity.
Before he can investigate further, the portal begins to destabilize, its shimmering surface rippling like water before collapsing in on itself. With a disappointed sigh, Tails watches as the portal fades away, leaving him standing alone in his laboratory once more.
As Tails reflects on what he has seen, a sense of excitement and anticipation fills him. He knows that this glimpse into another dimension is just the beginning of a much larger adventure, one that will take him and his friends to places they never imagined possible.
