I'm running a Springfield Armory SOCOM 16 for elk hunting. Great gun, but really benefits when you set it up with a magnified optic up top. Probably the most carryable hunting rifle I've ever had. (the specter SOP sling really helps with that)
It is really a great compliment to my AR15.
