Aegon the Dragon, Aegon of House Targaryen, was the last of the Dragon Lords of old Valyria. House Targaryen was one of the few Valyrian noble houses to survive the Doom of Valyria, having colonized the island of Dragonstone off the coast of Westeros. Aegon, and his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys set their sights on forging a new empire, uniting the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros (save Dorne) into a single realm.
