Crescendo Winters pulled into the student parking lot. Her best friend, Sundown Symphony sat in the shotgun seat. The irony of the situation: it wasn’t even Crescendo's car. Crescendo’s dad would never consent to buying a second gas-guzzling car, not if he could help it. Sundown’s parents had given her a brand new car for her sixteenth birthday. But Flash Sentry, ever busy on the police force, had little time to take Sundown driving. Sundown's mom, Sonata, didn't know how to drive.

So the current situation was this: Sundown only had her learner’s permit. Crescendo had her full license, so she drove Sundown's car for the both of them. The car’s name? Mallorie.

Still in her pajamas, Morningdew sat at the kitchen table drinking tea. Her morning commute was three minutes: if she wanted to make it to CHS by the 7:45 bell, she still had another nine minutes to screw around at home. And Morningdew planned on taking advantage of every last second.

Pitch Perfect lurked in the gym with her buddies. Despite the early time, the gang had an unusual amount of energy, and Pitch was belting out ‘Eye of the Tiger’ as loud as possible, using a baseball bat as a microphone. The gym teacher walked by and glared at Pitch and crew before slinking into his dingy office. The only reason he didn't throw them out was Pitch's status as best shortstop on the softball team.

Special Snowflake sat on the steps of the school, chatting with her friends. Topics ranged from latest trends to classic music, schoolwork to afterschool plans.
