Yesterday night I concluded another couple of pages from this little book. I wasn't too happy with the final result, but I was happy enough to at least call it an attempt to draw something resembling a tree. I didn't focus too much on it at first so the result it's all kinda messy and confusing: I know what I had in mind at a certain point, but I improvised too much with it to be clear enough for others people. But but but, the most pleasent thing about this is that I was able to pass on to something else without guilt or remorse: I want to use this sketchbook just to mindlessly doodle around. I don't like the paper quality because I can't mess with inks but is still somehow decent for normal pen drawings. And here's the key of all: I just care for the process over the final result. I might not be good enough to draw things properly but... there might be chances for cool stuff to randomly appears out of these pages, and that's not an holy crusade of mine at this point.
So there I was, drawing and feeling at peace with myself for once over the topic, when suddenly... SBAM! A book appears at my table. My friend gifted me a book to mess with, a heavy one, with more than 500 drawing ideas on blank pages, from the most mundane object to "van gogh's missing ear". And just like that, the struggle between the abstract things that I produce and the ability to properly draw come back to life as strong as before. My friend questioned me if I was really going to draw a "Rolling Pin" with my style... We'll see what time will tell.
One thing for sure, I will enjoy the process over the final result! Or I could even risk to learn to properly draw for once.
