there's something eerie about that background.

Lovely and haunting, I can almost feel the eyes watch my every move...

I love how the curls at the ends of the hair hanging at the front of the woman's face, matchs the curls at the top of the cat's ears. Also, I like the similarities with the woman's eyes and the cat's eyes: both fluro green and feline shaped. It gets me thinking that the cat is the woman's familiar.
And I'm probably not the first to say this but there is a "Corpse Bride" influence, which is a strong positive in my books
Just an idea, how you have this work looking as a framed portrait, you should do a series of these framed portraits with different characters. I just get the feeling from looking at this work that it is one of a series of portraits that you can't help but look at while you are walk down a long coridor in a mansion.
All in all, brilliant piece of art and it'll be definately in my favourites.
