It was a bit odd: the premise was that Sonic is one of triplets (the other two being Sonya and Manic), who were forced to be adbaonded by their mother who is the queen of Mobius and forces herself into hiding for she is told that her family is in danger of a demise by Dr. Robotnik.

At one point the three siblings get medallions that allow them to summon individual music instruments that double as weapons and...well music instruments. They play rock songs in show

Tone wise it's between the goofy Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and the serious Sonic SatAM. I watched it back in the day quite a lot as a major Sonic fan then. Nowadays I find it a bit campy. 🙂
