Description
A grin broke out across Pikachu's face as she presented her thunder stone to the Luminous Spring. It had taken ages for her to find it, and now all her hard work was about to pay off. As it lit up, she clutched it close to her chest and felt an immense surge of power flow through her body, as if she had been struck by a thousand lightning bolts. Her body tingled as it changed, her fur changing colour, her tail lengthening, her height increasing, her throat aching... Wait a minute.

Her glee faded as she noticed changes that definitely weren't part of the evolution process. Her mouth and nose were sucking in a constant stream of air like a Munchlax at a buffet, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop herself. She felt her belly stretch out beneath her paws until they no longer reached each other, causing her to drop the now-colourless thunder stone into the water. Was this an inflation curse? She'd never heard of a Pokémon blowing up while evolving, but there was a first time for everything, unfortunately.

She tried to lumber towards Treasure Town, but the air quickly rounded out her whole torso before she could even take a step. She bounced slightly as she fell onto her belly with a faint, hollow thud, followed by an increasingly loud hissing sound as her body swelled into a perfect sphere double, triple, quadruple a normal Raichu's girth. She flailed her arms up and down in an attempt to roll herself away, but all that accomplished was making her wobble from side-to-side, as if even her gargantuan body was mocking her pathetic attempts to save herself.

Well this was just great. She'd gone from an adorable, agile Pikachu to a bloated, helpless balloon with a Raichu attached. On the plus side, Pokémon visited Luminous Spring a lot, so it wouldn't be long until help came... right?

I realised today that I've never posted good old-fashioned air inflation here, so I decided to fix that, though I did combine it with transformation. This is early on in the inflation curse mythos timeline, so Pokémon haven't started turning into different species or substances yet.
