As he readjusted his stance, the enraged pirate spun his direction and advanced. Though a foe nearly twice his height and wielding a wicked iron scimitar, training took hold and time seemed to dilate, each movement of his looming adversary turning into orchestrated choreography. He could perceive the precise moment he would initiate his counter, moving with the pirate's substantial stride that propelled him forward and caused his weapon to sway predictably to the right in sync with his gait. And that's when he'd connect with his dance partner, leaping up to simultaneously slap the weapon further away, the sudden jolt aligning his opponent's face perfectly with his sweeping foot.
