Nancy and Kate were enjoying an afternoon together on their trip to Metropolis, while sneakily looking for a birthday gift for Doris. As seems to be pretty much the rule for any occasion when a superhero is expecting a nice, relaxing day, however, trouble soon arises. Trouble that needs the attention of a giantess or two!

Nancy wastes no time in invoking her powers and growing larger to take on her persona as the Fifty Foot Woman. She tells Kate to stay hidden and call for backup from the Justice League. Like many 18-year-olds, however, Kate isn't in the most obedient of moods, and even though it takes her a little more effort to invoke her growth powers, she's soon bursting through her own clothes, ready to get involved in the action herself.

On the plus side, when her birthday eventually arrives, Doris can look forward to getting a framed copy of the Daily Planet, with a front-page story about how the Fifty Foot Woman and Colossina teamed up to save the city from its latest threat.

(And Nancy would probably insist on pointing out that she isn't actually married to Doris and thus she technically isn't Kate's stepmother, but "Like Mother's Girlfriend, Like Girlfriend's Daughter" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, so...)
