Description
“One alive and in cryogenic stasis, the other dead and available for biological testing.”“Cryo-freeze? Like in the space movies?”
“Yes, like the space movies. Though It’s hundreds of years ahead of even today’s technology though it was made with materials and equipment common to the late 1940’s. In addition to immortality the technology can make its owner one of the richest tech innovators on Earth”
“Impressive.”
“Yes. Even more so when one considers it was built by a 24-year-old nurse with a high school education in a hotel in Phoenix in under three weeks.”
“How did she do that?”
“She had been joined to a symbiont.”
“The PROJECT MOGUL balloons of 1947 capable of sustained, high altitude signal generation attracted the symbionts and their hosts toward another world to bond with. It is believed the crash may have been INTENTIONAL by the symbionts for their mission of panspermia, as the ship had multiple unbonded specimens in stasis. But it is believed that the already infected hosts piloting the craft may have objected for whatever reason. The craft appears to have been disabled before the crash. In fact, causing it. Something FAR more intimate than a “lovers quarrel” may have broken out on the craft.”
“So, the “Roswell aliens” collected by the military may NOT have been in control of their actions. The symbionts having surveyed our species and found us highly desirable additions to their species.”
“After the crash, two frozen specimens survived, one symbiotic pairing was dying, two severely injured, and one standing pilot who quickly subdued a local sheep farmer who arrived on the scene. He was infected by a symbiont leaving its dying hosts. If host is catastrophically damaged the symbiont can abandon its host and go into stasis or bond immediately with another being. An act that kills the host.”
“Don’t they make you immortal? Isn’t that the point of all this?”
“Even immortality has its limits sir. A freefall crash to a planet’s surface from space even in advanced spacefaring technology is enough to destroy the strongest immortal. In this case the being was killed by the trauma of impact in an already disabled ship. A testament to their technology.”
“The now-bonded farmer, passing along his admittedly limited knowledge began devising a plan to cause interference and delay any involvement by authorities. Unfortunately, other residents of the area had contacted the local military and they arrived on scene before any plan could be initiated. The farmer was detained. The only two unbonded, still frozen symbionts to survive impact in stasis, the two injured aliens, the now dead specimen and the unharmed pilot were all captured.”
“Once law enforcement and the military had the specimens secured the farmers symbiont and the two injured symbionts quickly and quietly began to jump multiple hosts until infecting first several high ranking military personnel then the medical staff with the required security clearances in an attempt to free the two unbonded frozen symbionts that had been aboard the vessel and the living pilot. It seems the mature symbionts can temporarily inhabit organisms, guiding and controlling without initiating a bond or killing the host upon exit. Using life forms as vehicles in times of distress. A defense mechanism of sorts.”
“An infected nurse, Eileen Mae Selff, now commonly referred to now as “Nurse X” left the state to construct a portable cryo device while the infected military lay in hiding, gathering information, devising an escape plan and covering her departure. Fabricating a story about needing to help an ailing grandmother. Using her newly acquired intellect and using common late 1940’s technology she built the device to house/move frozen symbionts and returned to coordinate an escape with her fellow infectees.”
“Though the symbionts where successfully located, they were under much tighter security than when Nurse X had left. The military at this point had begun to comprehend the nature of the dead humanoid aliens, a dead symbiont they extracted from an eviscerated host, and the nature of possible infection. With heightened security the infected officers and nurse made their way to the security vault where the specimens and pilot were stored but where forced to fight their way in past the security personnel who were made immediately suspicious by the “bomb-looking thing” the nurse carried and consequently fight their way out with their rescued “prisoners”.”
“During the escape however, as the symbionts took and shrugged off multiple gunshot wounds a stray round pierced the device, rupturing one of its oxygen tanks during the escape. The resulting overpressure killed the symbiont whose tank was ruptured.”
“But if they’re immortal how did the overpressure kill an immortal alien?”
“The creature itself is not immortal until host bonding, then both benefit from the joining. This is how most of the frozen symbionts perished in the crash. In the escape the infected officers were blown apart and immolated by incendiary grenades. The damage to their forms proved too severe for the symbionts to repair. It seems during the bonding phase the host is still vulnerable for a period of time until the hosts physiology is fully altered by the symbiont. The nurse however escaped with these two specimens and the pilot. She gave them to us because we can provide the best clientele for their needs. She and the pilot remain in contact with us but have “disappeared” for security.”
“These aliens WANT to be sold off?”
“Yes, their lives are not complete until they find a host. But they must AGREE to the purchase as well. They have a “say” in whom they bond with.”
“How do they “say” anything? Aren’t they bugs?”
“Insect-like yes. The species began as simple symbionts do: infecting hosts to live off their physiology. But through their unique shared intelligence they gained sentience over millennia by infecting visiting extra-terrestrial life which possessed sentience. They are a vastly intelligent species with space-faring capability. Though this is accomplished via their hosts. They do not share a collective consciousness, but DO have a hive mind to share knowledge and possess astounding information stockpiled from different species in the universe they have infected. Consider it a mental public library for each symbiont to use. With knowledge spanning whole galaxies. Factual understanding and comprehension of new information is transmitted throughout the species. The method is as yet undisclosed. They can also communicate telepathically with each other over vast expanses. Nurse X, whom we are still in communication with, has agreed to act as a mediator should you wish to buy.”
“Just how DO they ‘bond” with someone?”
“They enter through rectum, slicing through the bowel wall and nesting in the tendon bundles of the Coccyx.”
“The what?”
“The tailbone.”
“The creatures forward antennae, tail stinger, main stinger and feelers double as advanced organic surgical tools and antibiotic/sedative injectors to preserve hosts life. This form you see is in effect, it’s larval stage. Once nested, they use tail stinger, main stinger and antennae stingers to pierce tendrils of spinal column to patch into hosts nervous system, senses and overall biological system. At this point the symbiont can only observe sensory input and boost biological systems to maintain the host at peak efficiency. It then proceeds to mutate the tendon bundles into a cocoon and gestates into a 17th gland-like organ in the human body in addition to the preexisting 16 primary glands. The “gland” becomes dominant controlling entire glandular system. Within the pelvis and extremities, the mature symbiont is now attached to the spinal column through its base to establish a symbiotic mental link with host.”
“Does it hurt?”
“We are told the experience is “novel”.”
“But how did the bugs “take over” the alien pilots? I don’t want to be mind controlled.”
“The hosts may have been overpowered but if they had it would have been either for their own best interests or because they somehow threatened the symbionts. A gestated symbiont will do anything to protect its host and CAN become the dominant personality over time if its host is weak willed.”
“The symbiont is inherently more intelligent than almost any host due to its communal knowledge, so it may, in certain events, obstruct a host from performing certain actions or even force actions against the hosts will. Even interfere with decisions or stop physical activities that are dangerous. These instances invariably turn out to be the wisest decision but therein lies the danger.”
“What danger?”
“The danger of subservience: if the host comes to regard the symbionts decisions as superior to its own (even on a deep-seated phycological level) the symbiont will become the dominant personality. We have documented cases of this.”
“So how do I remain in control?”
“Strong will sir, that is required. And the mental fortitude to exert command constantly for as long as…you wish to.”
“Nurse X has agreed to discuss this with a buyer, but not until a binding agreement is made.”
“So, what are the benefits?”
“Telekinetic ability, vastly increased strength, a superhuman healing ability, and of course immortality. All powers granted by symbiont interfacing with the hosts biology. After metamorphosis the symbionts alterations of muscle, tendon and bone structure allow for amazing feats of strength, stamina and gymnastic ability.”
“And this increases lifespan…?”
“Exponentially according to our records. The hosts ability to maintain and self-repair is impressive. Recoverability is determined by host/symbiont bond.”
“The specimens we offer were a breeding pair. Their species is gender neutral, their “sex” determined by hosts. They reproduce by having infected members of another species mate. This produces not members of the infected species but the larval form of the symbionts. We offer both: The living specimen to bond with and the carcass of #2 is left for experimentation/research.”
“They’ll let me cut up the other one?”
“The creatures do not think about the dead like we do. If some use can be made of the dead, they encourage it. One need look no further than humans domesticating animals for a parallel: safety, absolute security, food shelter and care until the end.”
