Description The Class Platocula has an internal respiratory system (which has migrated to be the top half of the body rather than the rear half) and a pair of flat, extending eyes with excellent vision.  The main body is supported by a compact cage of bones, and the limbs by a flexible series of bones and cartilage.
Members of the Order Trygos have a pair of fleshy, wing-like limbs and a tail (which can be either tiny and and tucked against the body, or long and muscular), and fly through either water or the air.  Their life cycle has four phases: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.  Trygos eggs float on the water’s surface, catching wind to disperse themselves.  The hatched larvae eventually pupate and the adults emerge and either stay in the water or fly out of it to go on and find mates and sustenance.
