Description
A blast from the past with a little fanart, but, the hardest games kinda do it to themselvesOne of the "older" games that I know of on steam is Banzai Pecan, and while it's nothing loved, I do like the attempt, and I do know of the pain it brings. A short, 2D button mash brawler filled with many cowgirls, bunny girls, elves, all named after nice foods, and a moderate-to-high difficulty, where I daresay the odds are fairly stacked against you, and most likely you will lose a lot of stages and end up with pretty sore fingers...
And then there's me that tends to commission a lot of "Game Over" related art
(Naturally I do not own this image, it's taken from the steam page for non-profit, and comparison reasons only. Rights are with Serious Impact Works)
For this one we took the original continue screen from the game, and just made a D.I.D version of it with a modern concept rather than cows and elves. Usually Pecan gets a general tip from her best friend, Flan. Since Flan's been kidnapped too however, the local kidnapper Goon (But you can call him Goony) took over the tip spot while the two are struggling. He's no oracle but, I mean, he's got a point..
As always, this is another commission by , who is the artist.
Banzai Pecan is created by Serious Impact Works back in 2012. This is pretty much Fanart.
Would people want to see more Pecan art? Will Pecan ever escape? Will Goony get home in time for dinner with his wife at 6?
FIND OUT IN THE NEXT EPISODE OF PECAN PERILS!!
Seriously though, I'm glad Banzai Pecan exists. I can't say it's a hidden gem of a game, but it's a finished project, and I think they tried really hard with it. Hopefully they won't mind that the fanart is D.I.D, but the overall goal is just a little nostalgia trip of "hey this existed once, maybe take 5 minutes to have a look at an old project that people may not think of so much these days. Let's not let projects like this fade out of existence ^^"
