Back when Sunburst and Sombra first got married, Sunburst was ecstatic to start a family. Sombra didn't take it well; he had never been well with children and wasn't sure if he could even handle starting a family. Of course, after a long time of reassuring and persuading, Sunburst managed to get Sombra to start a family with him.

Both stallions were ecstatic when they gave birth to Crimsonite (who was magically created.) Although, they both had very different reactions to her being an alicorn. Sunburst was incredibly excited and couldn't wait to teach her all about magic.

However, Sombra didn't take it very well. He was afraid of what would happen to his foal. He was afraid someone would find them out. Sombra dedicated his life to protecting his husband, his princess, and whoever else they brought into this world.

Growing up, Crimsonite was very quiet. She often lacked emotion, but showed great magical abilities. Sombra and Sunburst were ever so proud of their little girl. Crimsonite grew very protective of her family, doing everything to make sure they were healthy and safe.

Once she was a teenager, Sombra and Sunburst began to send her out on tasks to receive supplies such as food, blankets, fire wood, etc. They didn't have many resources hiding in an Appleoosa cave, and Sunburst didn't want Crimsonite being sheltered away from everypony else, which greatly concerned Sombra.

Crimsonite eventually convinced her Father that she would be fine. And he just couldn't say no to his little foal.
