The U.S.S. Defiant extends its landing gear and prepares to land among the ruins of an ancient civilization on an unexplored planet with high levels of ionization in the atmosphere. Sisko hopes to recover Chief Obrien and Dr. Bashir, who led an away team to the surface before the Jem Hadar ambushed the Defiant in orbit. After turning the attacking ships to dust, Dax reports large numbers of Dominion patrols are entering the system and setting up a sensor net to hunt for the Federation ship.

Sisko orders the Defiant into the planet's atmosphere. After all, the Dominion shouldn't know about the Defiant's ability to land on a planet. The ability was never demonstrated, but now is the time to test it. And once they cloak the ship on the surface, they'll not be observed among the ruins until the Dominion move off.

What Sisko doesn't know is Obrien and Dr. Bashir have experience strange things among the ancient ruins. Massive stones levitating into the air and stacking themselves into complex formations, while some hurtle through the sky, crashing like thunder on the ground. What secrets and dangers does this world possess? They are about to find out, and its going to be one spooky night.
