Call him into being, see him rise from the waves, watch him feed and let it empower you. Feel his tentacles caress you, curl around and within you, sigh and moan, as if he is your lover, be consumed by this passion. And stare deeply into his opening eyes. As you awaken the sleeper.

IV-Cthulhu Awaken Rite

This is a very free form rite, I am providing a skeletal structure, but it's up to the individual to take it any direction they like. Even the evocation is just a guideline, what I've developed, do with it whatever you like.

Choose a night of power to honor and conjure forth Cthulhu!

The elements I've changed, with the idea of transumation of fire to water and earth to air, have each direction represented by its appropriate element (eg. incense for air, etc...)

West-fire-Nyarlathotep
South-water-Cthulhu
East-earth-Shub Niggurath
North-Air –Yog Sothoth (or Hastur)

Suggested items/implements:

Sigil of Cthulhu
Chalice (for communal water)
Dagger (used when calling corners)
Black attire (or naked
Black (or dark green) candles
Any appropriate jewelry, decor, clothing, etc... with things such as eyes, tentacles, talons, scales, serpent, dragons, the old ones seal, cthulhu images (of course!)
A sigil of Cthulhu over third eye
Music of ocean sounds or dark ambiance
If one wants to get creative, they could paint sigils of all old ones painted on body

While staring at the Cthulhu sigil, Envision a Green Flame burning in its center, and the black lightning of Nodens flashing at its sides, :

"From the deepest oceans you shall arise, briny waters of the Blackest depths.

To the sweet purity of this water, I add the bitter sting of salty brine. For in the womb of Tiamat, the waters of Absu we were spawned. And from these waters the power Arise!"

Stir the waters counterclockwise, mixing the salt, visualize a whirlpool forming in the cup.

Now take communion to Cthulhu, reciting what you wish.

(Drink from the chalice, filling yourself with the essence of the Ancient Seas of Chaos, of Cthulhu, see yourself tentacled and winged, as one with your god.

Make your petitions and dark prayers, whispered desires, Anoint yourself with the elixir in the cup (you may add whatever you like to its contents), Dedicate yourself To The Great Old Ones!

Recite his calling:
