Little Scene I came up with in my head----
in the not too distant future (like a year or two)
Not long after Eggmans most recent defeat, Sonic helps escort the scientist to one of G.U.N.s top prisons. during this excursion he encounters Shadow, sour like most days but more visibly tired than usual.
the two engage in conversation, describing the life of a hero vs the life of an agent... and what to do when nether is needed anymore. if this victory is permanent, and the world can move on without Eggman.
Something Sonic hasn't thought about, for a very long time....
