This is a rough (very rough) animation demonstrating the roller, which seems to be the favorite right now. Thus I made this animation to show exactly what it is these units do.
Here's a more detailed explaination. As I've said before, when units have suffered enough damage, each shot they take afterwards will slowly inflate them. Most units can be inflated a couple times and still move, though they will move and attack slower. Once they reach a certain point however, they can neither move, nor attack, and simply float there helplessly till they are deflated by a deflator or deflate over time.
The roller is a unit with a major exception. When they reach their stage of "immobilty" they are anything but immobile. They will roll towards whatever attacked them and if they roll over said unit, the unit becomes flattened, and also takes minor damage. As the roller gets hit, she inflates more and rolls slower but covers slightly more ground. Altough you can't tell from the animation, when she's at the stage of inflation right before popping, she actually is supposed to moving quite slowly.
Flatten units are stunned and can take damage from other units shooting at them. However, if all their health is depleted, then any shots to them will inflate them back to normal, and then inflate them normally. Say a unit has half their health and they are flattened and another unit begins shooting them. Their health will drop, and when it reaches 0, they are "cured" of being flattened, and can use that moment to run or do what ever. Flattened units will also turn back to normal on their own over a small period of time. If a flattened unit gets flattened again, it will just reset the time for them to turn back.

That is some awesome animation work. This would be one great game. It reminds me almost of Squishgame. You have really vivid colors in these flattenings. Nice.

I've played the squish game, though the idea of the roller had come from someone else who asked if 'there could be a unit who floats in the sky, then lands and flattens people'.
The roller was my comprimise since I'm not worrying about air units right now.
