Description
i was told that it doesnt look like a sea D: stormy sulks in the corner. anyways! i bet theres about 40 or 50 hours in this one. this month is so cramped up =_= cant get anything right and on time. would love to bitch about this horrid week but theres no time even for that >_< stress stress!sooo... its for contest [link] theme being inspiration by a certain song. i admit, i watched video despite the recommendation, but in the end i bet its unconnected. i mean, i was totally lost in official clip o_O my piece is purely inspired by one certain line that cut so deep in me i couldnt imagine anything else for the song.
Ballerinas that have fins that you'll never find
somehow i realised that "fins" represent mermaid, whilst "ballerina" means that she traded the fins for legs. which in turn means, that theyre lost forever and that dear person for whom it got traded is oblivious of her true nature.
yes! i am a master literature interpreter! oh, good old school days when i got max marks from reading between the lines 8D
back to the song. so i was in overall into an impression of depressed relationship, sad woman whos disappointed in life, tricking herself with substitutes (nicotine patches) and therefore in the end i completed my depressed smoking mermaid-now-human. pretty original, eh?
the fish in the water is supposed to be sort of her reflection, but i made it to have volume since its still part of her still.
oh yes, sky is awesome and so is sphere perspective 8D i know i know ;*

Pretty Epic.
I really like the way the horizon and perspective curves.
It gives it a deranged feeling.

great piece and lovely done. I really enjoy it. I like your interpretation too.
to explain the song and video: the song is about her. losing her baby. being completely lost and each time when you think someone can help you - they can't and they let you down. it's you on your own who has to get you out of the deep black whole. your will to live, your will to survive.
I think the video shows that in a very interesting way while telling a story - she is captured, hold. she tries to escape and in the water she loses the eye bandage, comes up, breath again, see the light again. she still needs to fight for life and she will carry on doing that. when she gets to the car it shows your spark of hope but people are too wrapped up in their shit to care or help you - you have to do it on your own.
i didn'T mean people shouldn't watch the video at all - i think in this song are many ways to get inspired. when you only listen to the melodie. it'S melancholic, dramatic, but at the same time it switches to lively, giving hope and seems revealing. the text tells a sad and personal story (of the singer herself haveing a miscarriage) - but the good is the climax. the point where she turns things around, starts to take things in her own hands. i never see the sad part of this song. for me it is about live and living, breathing and finding strength in yourself in moments when you think you have none.
I love what you made of it. thank you for participating

well, that is why i didn't want people to look to much into it. getting inspired doesn't mean you have to express exactly what she expressed. - so what you made of it and how you interpreted is is just great.
