Description Yeah, I know, long time no new works from me...
And yes, another eye, I know...
I just wanted to try to combine detailed work with a bit rougher work, and this is the result.

Are colours and contrasts okay? First time I saw this work on my home screen I was like "wtf is that?" *blinded*

It's fantastic! Brilliant job with the eye. Amazining amount of detail Love it! I know this ref quite well, had it on my computer for months waiting to draw it, but then I changed my mind

Thank you very much, dear
Hehe, this was a probable ref of yours? Funny coincidence. It is a fantastic ref for painting a wet eye. Why have you changed your mind?

Definitelly. I've had it for months and then one day I just erased it., even though I already printed it to draw an aceo. But not to worry, I have at least 2 great eye refs to draw which I definitelly won't erase. I avoid drawing only the eyes because the attention they get is often just ridiculous and it would get on my nerves when I'd compare it with drawings I spent 1-3 months on and which went practically unnoticed compared to some eye drawing. (need no more proof than my ruined drawing "Pure" of which I only submitted the eyes)Just take *Ileana-S for example-some of her close ups have so much more feedback than her full pieces

Oh yes, I also recognized that eyes often get great attention, not only with your drawn eyes, and I also got kinda bored of it, at least, if they have nothing special or are incredibly detailed. It's a shame a fully outworked face (for example) gets much less recognition than a part of it, even though eyes might be one of the most beautiful parts of the face. (but I doubt it is the only one)

I forgot to say that the point is: I don't want dA to dictate me what to draw because I know it will get recognition (not that I ever let it), but I'd rather not know in advance that if drew eyes I'll definitelly get loads of feedback and also know that some people might assume I drew them to "become popular" and not becasuse I like that ref so much I couldn't resist drawing and that I'd actually prefer not to raise too much dust with it because I'd be much more happier if some of my other drawings got what a pair of eyes gets

I know what you mean, sad but true but this is kinda how deviantart works (and not only deviantart if you ask me)... things which are liked by most of the people gain more attention, not only with drawing eyes.
But I assume you, as long as someone is not drawing ONLY eyes and gets mass recognition with that, I don't think that this person draws eyes just to become popular, as I know it's also quite fun to draw them. I am also sure that I am not the only one who thinks like this

(damn, I hope you understood me, as I don't have English lessons any more I have more problems with writing in English >.< )

I think I understood you Yeah, I could draw eyes all day long Plus, once you start you probably get addicted, same with ACEOs And also, like seeing drawings of them. Hahah OK, enough about the eyes

I am not that obsessed with ACEOs yet, it's not my thing, but to be honest I have never tried it out yet, so this could probably change

People go nuts about the eyes, which is completely understandable, but I see it as, lets say, easy way of getting attention and large amount of feedback: draw a nice pair of eyes(one will do too) and voila! Eyes have become one big cliche on dA and I really don't mean anything bad about the artists who draw only eyes, I mean, we all drew eyes and will draw them again and again. How can you resist a fantastic ref? Anyone who thinks they don't get enough feedback can simply start drawing some eyes and problem solved I'm only joking, but the contrast in recognition of some other fantastic work vs. pair of eyes, because they're, well, pair of eyes is a bit worrying, but there's nothing that can be done about it and this thing will aways be the same.
