Well, technically Lucario and Renamon are at the same evolution stage, and Lucario's fully evolved, so think of Kyuubimon as Renamon's "elder" form. Or something like that.
And it was bound to happen sometime. Digimon and Pokemon are so much alike that it wouldn't be long before the two crossed boundaries. Besides, the typical female Renamon isn't too bright, and since males are few and far in between, they are often mixed up with a Shiny Lucario. See? Dyslexia and other disabilities are common among most Renamon, so they need all the help they can get. Since Renamon and Lucario's genetic codes are almost identical, it is belived that Renamon and her species may actually be a variation of Lucario. And don't worry about Renamon having children with Lucario. An incompatibility in Lucario's genetic code causes the offspring to have a very short life expectancy. This is most often carried out by an extremely weak immune system in the offspring, making them extremely vulnerable to disease. The few Viximon/Riolu hybrids ("Vixiolu") that have survived didn't make it out without their fair share of damage. One, a female dubbed "Andromeda", is paralyzed from the knees down, while another, a male named "David", was left deaf after what would've been a simple ear infection ravaged his auditory nerves.
So, if Lucario and Renamon DO manage to have children, they wouldn't last long.
