1. She's fully clothed, making her appropriate for children.2. She and Sonic are longer in love with her, but rather, they are friends/partners. This is good, because boys (who Sonic was made for) find romance icky and have little to no understanding of it. Having a cool female chipmunk fight alongside Sonic would delight so much more.
