I'd hardly consider a series dramatically altered halfway through due to the writer having a gargantuan emotional breakdown "mature". At least hardly moreso than Chonbits. But then again, maybe I'm biased.

That, and the rather constant presence of blood mutilation that occurs throughout the anime.

More mature then Chobits, which I find tends to be cute just for the sake of being cute.
