All started from rendering a photo... Then I noticed and though hey let's make this into a statue/relic looking head thats so old it makes your grandma look young.

So this is how it came out, it does look a bit 2d since the textures are moreless slapped ontop of the face.. I spent a few more minutes throwing in shadows to fix that. I also wrote a tutorial on how to do this:
