Here's my Knuckles redesign for Sonic Trailblazers:

Knuckles is the lone guardian of the Master Emerald. He knows only that he came from the Master Emerald to guard the gem and Angel Island lest whatever wiped out his kin happen again. He of course has no social understanding whatsoever, so he has a bit of naiveite that can appear as gullibility. What he does have is an innate intuition that allows him to discern whether someone's intentions are genuine, so when Eggman introduces himself as someone trying to improve the world, Knuckles knows he means it, even if he doesn't realize how cruel and forceful his methods can be, or what Eggman means by 'improve the world'. On the flip side, this is helpful when a certain bat appears to take the Master Emerald...

As for his design, it's largely unchanged. Originally, I was going to use his official artwork colors, but I tried out the darker muzzle like he had in SA2 and immediately fell in love with the look. His spikes are bone protrusions. I am still toying with the idea of giving him gloves or some hand coverings, but from the outset I didn't want him to have boxing gloves. He needs full dexterity in his fingers!
