*Maki was the MVP of Kanagawa Tournament, and Jin was the leading scorer for Kainan University.
*Jin initially aim for the Center position for Kainan, but did not qualify due to his weak physique.
*Kainan University place 1st at the Kanagawa tournament (won previous title for 16 straight years), and later 2nd in National (based on the Manga).
*Fujima is a playing-coach, and he considered Maki as his greatest rival who does not only possess a high Point Guard skills, and IQ, but also Strength & Power which common PG don't have.
*At the end of the Kanagawa tournament, Takenori Akagi considered as the top/best Center as Shohoku finished at 2nd place.
*In the Kanagawa Tournament,  Ryonan vs Kainan. It is said that Sendoh was playing at equal or better than Maki.
*Sendoh mostly at Forward position, but sometimes plays as PG when needed. Mostly in crunch time, he rather go for a Score rather than pass to his teammates.
*Rukawa dubbed as "Super-Rookie" is criticized by their own coach, that he is below Sendoh, in terms of playing. At Nationals, Rukawa copied and adapted his new skill "floater" from one of the players of Sannoh, during their match-up. After the National tournament, he joined All-Japan basketball team.
*Sakuragi is self proclaim "Rebound King", which not only possess a High-Jump, but also a 2nd quick Jump that can totally block a shot/ grab a rebound. In a particular game, Sakuragi grabbed 20 rebounds that tied an International record (the supposed record-breaker 21st, was grabbed by Akagi).
*Sakuragi's competitive nature can be either be his strength or weakness, depending on his match-up. When his competitor is playing great, he would likely improve himself (in terms of Rebound and Defense), but if someone guarding him is weak, he become useless (strategy used by Kainan).
*In the National Tournament, where Shohoku faced Sannoh (previous National champion) in a win, Sakuragi suffered an Injury (back/spine) . And later spent his days recovering from it (at the end of the Manga).
