Who the hell needs talent and creativity anymore? Just use a few dumb Emo lyrics and you won´t even need colours or a nice concept. Be uncreative, be stereotyped, be without any statement and your work will definetely become a favourite.What I like to say is: Many people at DA use lyrics written by Emo bands. Hey, so do I. But all these people put a lot of work, a little love and a small piece of their soul in their poems, pictures and avatars. They look for a nice background, they choose the colours carefully and they think about a concept, about a special statement within their work.
I don´t think that these people are worth being overlooked because of other people using popular Emo lyrics with the result of getting all the attention.
Being creative doesn´t mean copying popular words on a white background. Being creative doesn´t mean putting a blinking smiley next to the words and calling it "individual".
Being creative means giving people the chance to take a peek into your soul by creating more than just a few black letters on a white screen...

I'd be offended... but i really can't be bothered. Too tired. I actually find it quite funny You make an interesting point, however the term "emo" has been made in such a colocial term that it's rather incorrect. Most artwork is supposed to convey some sort of emotion, however i understand where you are comming from, with the whole "if they are non conformist, why do they all look the same" argument.
It's harsh, and i don't agree with you, but it's somewhat funny all the same.

Look Guys the whole concept of emo's, chav's and sk8ters etc. is so cliche but yet it's so TRUE.
Theres an emo "style" Eg. Skinnys, dark etc. Which is very different to actually being "emo" Hell, I dress quite indie/emo but I love being me!
I couldn't complain about my life right now! (and emo boys are pretty hot)
But actually being emo is a totally different thing altogether. Maybe their attention-seekers or maybe they're actually suffering. Take the time to think about the possibilities in why they're doing these things-cutting wrists etc.- before judging.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but some of you just abuse the privilege.

look at all these comments. your disrespecting emo's. real emo's that don't want to live there life maybe cos of abuse read these comments and may commit suicide. you might think yes anouther one gone but at the end of the day its just another fuckin living person. i have never told anybody this but i used to get abused not by my parents though but by kids at school. i have tried to take my life but failed but one day i might sucseed if i read things like this. most people become emo just to get attention. take my friend for example she killed herself cos she got abused by her parents R.I.P Molly and my other friend does it for attention. she took an overdose and when she woke up in hospital she told me she didn't mean it. this broke my heart into thousands of tiny peices to write this comment. now do you understand the meanin of emo's and attention seekers.

I haven't seen my biological mom in eight years, her mom tried to put my dad [the person that means more to me than anyone else]in jail just because she didn't like him, my step mom and brother abused me, my dad was always working because we couldn't afford very much and I was too scared to tell him what was going on, I was one of the most hated kids in my school and had no friends whatsoever, I was scared to go home but I had no where else to go. ALL BEFORE I WAS EVEN 10 YEARS OLD!! I almost killed myself but I stopped and thought that would be stupid. I figured there were people in worse situations than me. In the end though, it made myself a stronger person and the last thing I'm looking for is sympathy.
I wasn't offended by this, in fact I found it hilarious. So do us all a favor and don't be offended either. It DEFINITELY isn't something to kill yourself over.

i know. my life has been turned around by my friend who i have never met. she has helped me so much because she mad me realise like you said that there is people worse off than me. i realised that i was just being selfish and stupid. i still get down but thats over somebody who i love. when she does something that hurts her it makes me hurt and want to die inside but i still realise that i should be there for her cos that's what she need most. thankyou. x

First of all for all the emo's, this post isn't about emo's its about a lack creativity so quit being selfish trying to grab attention you bunch of posers. If you really are emo then go write some fuckin poetry and be creative and this won't apply to you.
Secondly if something as small as this makes you want to kill yourself then you have issues and you need to go to the doctor and get some meds cause there is no reason for you to be so unhappy that you just HAVE TO have attention which by the way harming yourself is no way to get attention it just makes people think you're a loser. And don't you dare tell me I don't know what I'm talking about because I've gone through all the cutting and self mutilation and I've had a pretty fucked up live and you don't see me claiming I'm going to kill myself.
