Who the hell needs talent and creativity anymore? Just use a few dumb Emo lyrics and you won´t even need colours or a nice concept. Be uncreative, be stereotyped, be without any statement and your work will definetely become a favourite.What I like to say is: Many people at DA use lyrics written by Emo bands. Hey, so do I. But all these people put a lot of work, a little love and a small piece of their soul in their poems, pictures and avatars. They look for a nice background, they choose the colours carefully and they think about a concept, about a special statement within their work.
I don´t think that these people are worth being overlooked because of other people using popular Emo lyrics with the result of getting all the attention.
Being creative doesn´t mean copying popular words on a white background. Being creative doesn´t mean putting a blinking smiley next to the words and calling it "individual".
Being creative means giving people the chance to take a peek into your soul by creating more than just a few black letters on a white screen...

i'm not walking around calling myself an emo. it's silly little label for children like you. realize, honey, that you're not the only one with problems. hundreds of people die each day of much more worse circumstances, beaten for who they are - whatever. but all those people who have been victim to this global madness - you don't see them being 'emo'. it's called depression, don't put a lighter term for it. there is none.
so if you're depressed, just go out and say it. don't call yourself an emo just to look cool to all the other thousands of emos that just look exactly like you.

Well , maybe get help.
I used to be like you...my life was pretty miserable. Even though help seems far away , it comes through in the tiniest forms. Just gotta hang on. (and eat chocolate...loads and loads of chocolate)
You have to ignore people who judge , its a test. Thy are there to tease you and whatnot , but in the end they are the usually the ones who suffer. (Karma , baby)
I just find this whole label of emo unhealthy. Some teenagers (who are the emos who cuts themselves) worry me.
And I really hate it when people purposefully put a label on themselves to look cool.

I have been reading the comments on this deviation, and some of them are funny, I laughed right out loud. But what exactly makes a band an 'emo band'? I mean all the music I listen to has some depressing 'tone' to it. Its all in the way that you listen to it. And when is someone considered 'emo'? Everyones going to be like, oh thats when they dress in black and cut themselves and wear the dark eyeliner and all that stuff. but like a comment that I read before, cutting is a pyschological condition, I dress in black and dark clothing everyday but that doesnt make me 'emo' and maybe someone put their eyeliner on in the dark and so its really thick that day. but hey what do I know? But I do understand where youre coming from on your deviation, I have seen these people around dA. and some of them are so bad that you want to smack them but I still think that its all in the way that you look at it.

I know i'm butting in, but I listen to MCR for the vocals and the band themselves, not because it has deep meaning and whatever someone else might say. It's just attention grabbers that say what you hear about most often, but there may be a majority of MCR fans who just listen to them because they're good. I do maybe two things that might make me look emo,(skinny jeans and converse), but it's an image thing, you don't have to be emo to wear them, I'm relatively too happy for such a word, "emo".

that is a stereotype. emo stands for emotional, as in ALL emotions not just sad and pissed off and not all emo kids cut. cutting is not emo, it is a psychological problem, there are people who cut that are not emo

Well I have to say I agree, I'm tired of looking up something, then the first deviation I click on is just some lyrics, that have absolutely nothing to do with my search. I don't particularly like the stereotyping of "emo" honestly, it's three letters, one word, and it sounds like a bird (emu, for those of you less intelligent). I can't begin to comprehend how those artists...why they consider themselves artist I haven't the vaguest of ideas, they have a plethora of watchers, whereas I know some AMAZING artists on dA, and they have all of 3 or 4 watchers. It is truly sad, the amounts of stupidity that today's populous heaves at us daily.
