This is really good, but have you ever tired grid drawing. I think, if you haven't tried it, that you'd benefit from it. I noticed the proportions were a little off in some of your drawings.
Also. colouring the hair in longer strokes would make it look more natural than colouring it in small rectangular sections, that way you don't have the visible overlaps.

Maybe doing one every once in a while will help you keep your proportions accurate.

Maybe, but there's also a possibility that it won't. If you're continuously doing the same thing incorrectly it's hard to fix it without trying a different method, even if it's one you don't like. I know this from experience, for YEARS I had difficulties with proportion, and then my friend told me how to fix it, and though I didn't like the way she drew, I tried it and I slowly fixed my proportion problems, and I'm still working on that fault in my drawing.
Whichever way you choose though, good luck. You definitely have a gift.
