Someone help me! I can't stop making MLP OCs!
In all seriousness, making these cuties is a serious stress reliever. OMG.

Disclaimer Merri is a brand new baby of mine and is therefore a WIP. This is likely to change or evolve over time.

Merri is a reindeer.

She lives with her mother, sister, and father in a village known as ‘The Grey Gale.’ It’s a very cold and snowy place nestled in the forests near Maneitoba.

Her father, Solstice, is the leader of their herd and her big sister, Poinsettia, has been spending most of her life training to one day take his place. Thankfully, Merri doesn’t have to worry about many responsibilities. She’s kind of spoiled and is often shirking what duties her parents try to pin on her. Though, she’s admittedly irresponsible and, well, just plain lazy Merri does have a kind and generous heart.

Name: Merri

Prounouced: Mare- eee

Age: Young Adult

Gender: Cow. Female

Race: Reindeer

Current Residence: The Grey Gale (in Caneighda)

Job: Avoiding jobs

Additional:

I have no frame of reference for this, but I imagine reindeer would be much bigger than ponies. Seeing as how they’re bigger than normal deer and the deer in the comics were bigger than most of the ponies. I imagine she’s probably Trouble Shoes height.

❆Social❆

Mother: Holly. Merri’s mother tries to hold her daughter more accountable and is generally the one that gives her chores and responsibilities that she usually wiggles out of. Holly is ever patient with her carefree daughter but still holds out hope that one day she’ll grow up and contribute more.

Father: Solstice. Solstice seems like a very stern and cold Bull on the outside but behind closed doors he’s a big marshmallow to his family- especially his daughters. Though he tries to take on the teacher role (especially with Poinsettia) he’s a pushover when it comes to Merri. He’s not terribly fond of non-reindeer creatures coming into his village (since it’s a very rare occurrence) and regards them with suspicion until he deems them safe. He is a kind and fair leader and is very much loved by his citizens.

Sister: Poinsettia. Poinsettia seems much older than Merri even though she’s not. She’s just a lot more mature and responsible whereas her little sister is a lazy daydreamer. Poinsettia has a love for lists and organization that would rival even a certain princess of Friendship. In all honesty, she is probably ready to take over her responsibilities as herd leader now. Though, she’s in no hurry for her father to retire.

❆Personality❆

Strengths

Optimism It’s hard to bring Merri down. Even when she can’t wiggle out of her chores, after a brief pouting period, she usually finds a way of making it into a game. She has a kind of infectious cheerfulness that can really light up a room.

Kindness Merri is really a sweetheart. She wears her heart on her metaphorical sleeve and really cares about everyone. She’s never met a stranger, so to say.

Creativity Merri loves creating things- usually out of snow. Her mother tried to channel this into ice sculpting but that took too much patience. But! Merri is quite talented at making just about anything out of snow (for your own safety- don’t challenge her to a snowball fight either.) She also loves to sing and play on her pan pipe. She also puts this creativity to good use when trying to find excuses not to work.

Weaknesses

Laziness Merri is very lazy. She hates work and chores and cleaning. She does her best to avoid such activities.

Short Attention Span Merri is a day dreamer through and through. If whatever she’s doing or whatever you’re saying doesn’t interest her it’s hard for her mind not to wander. She doesn’t intentionally mean to be rude, but she’ll often interrupt someone if they’re not holding her interest. She can’t be trusted to cook dinner or anything that requires a lot of concentration because, well, it won’t get done properly. She’s nearly burned her house down before… twice.

Forgetfulness Don’t get offended if Merri forgets your birthday or doesn’t keep an appointment. She is incredibly scatterbrained.

Eating (except Gingerbread), sleeping, playing in the snow, cozy fireplaces, sweets (except Gingerbread), meeting new reindeers/ponies/etc, flowers, stargazing, jokes, puns, music, surprises, her family

Dislikes:

Work, chores, lectures, getting up early, slushy snow, grumps, staying still, math, bitter foods, Gingerbread, puzzles
