2011 EDIT: This was drawn back in 2008 ( see original version here), but I recently was going to try and resize it to fit 11x17 (it was only ever an 8 x 10) ... and then I accidentally recolored it. I can't contain myself when renderbation is an option.Not to be preachy or anything, but it is May. A bunch of students are graduating college, wondering what the hell to do with their lives. XD And I kind of want to say to you what someone else said to me that made a huge difference in my perspective. More artistic growth has happened for me in the two years AFTER graduating than has happened during the 4 years I took my degree. The original version of this illustration I did at the beginning of my senior year, the current version is done 2 years after graduation. There'd be more artistic growth observed if I'd redrawn it too, but the coloring says enough, I think.
So anyway, onwards and upwards.

pointed out back in 2008 that there is another super famous, super amazing artist to produce this concept in this composition. T_T; But by the time I found out, I'd already completed this image, and I liked it, so ... oh wells I guess. Can't have too much Pan and Ophelia anyway. ^___^

The strong similarity between Ofelia and my sister was quite unsettling. Took me a while to get attached to the character.

If this were an anime you would secretly (or not-so-secretly) have a crush on me - it would manifest violently and I would smirk and be terrible about it and by the time I realised how great you were and how much I like you you would already be going out with the most popular and best-looking boy at the academy who would also be my bitter rival as most clever person in the universe ... and for whatever reason we investigate supernatural phenomenon when we aren't attending to our host club duties or writing names in a book that kills people.
Meanwhile, don't give me stuff - I don't deserve it. I am, however, happy to buy any already made prints you have ... I don't want you to go to any trouble. I also have two things to send to you ... I meant to do it this weekend but I only just found the second item yesterday.

No problem - I can just be a dedicated cross-dresser without shame, and since our world is so permissive no one cares if I turn up to the academy in the girls' uniform (I'm picturing ... kilts and thigh high socks, maybe?). My behaviour will confuse you - you will be invariably repulsed and turned on, and no matter how cool your friends think I am, you'll find it hard to make a move on me because your parents will have mixed feelings until I win them over or they simply vanish and never appear in the series again until they're kidnapped and used in a plot that will ultimately lead to me sacrificing my life in order to save theirs even though you only really care about them for the purposes of this particular plot. As for us both having a crush on the same girl, you know I'll win her over with my non-threatening, sexually ambiguous charms (;

I really like the art, but you make Pan look so devilishly evil and Ofelia very well, subdued. I feel like it's quite out-of-character for them both. ;__;
On a different note, I love the stylistic trees and texture in the b/g, it works wonderfully~~
