Akai (Shadow) sitting on a waterfall, thinking.It's been a LONG while since I've actually done anything with a background. Told myself I wouldn't be lazy and impatient this time around again, but you know... I'm me. So I didn't put ALL my effort into it -- then again, I still don't know how to properly colour backgrounds with Photoshop yet... I'll learn, eventually.
And since I say it in EVERY picture I upload of him, Akai IS Shadow. He is a 'muse', a fanfic/roleplaying version of him. Yeeep.

It's a scar. O: He got hit in the head with a first aid kit in a role play. Kind of embarrassing on his part, but hey, it was done just as a joke and the like. xD It wound up sticking due to sheer irony and the opportunity to ridicule him in the future.

I haven't commented on your artwork in ages. As in, probably, years. But I can't pass this one up.
Firstly, I just love Akai's pose. It flows--there's absolutely no awkwardness in the limbs or any other part of him. His expression is extremely well executed; you can tell he's way off in his head. You can see that he's quite somber but still peaceful here.
His hands and boots I absolutely adore. There's something about the claws on the ends of his fingers that really balance his hands out. And, his boots are just neat--you did such a great job on the laces, they're uniform on both of his shoes all the way. That's so an impossibility for me, so I really love the outcome here.
Another of my favorite parts of this image is his chestfur. It's shaded simply compared to the rest of Akai but that makes it stand out in contrast with all the black.
I like the background, even if it isn't your best effort. The water helps reiterate the serenity of the image somehow. The stormclouds were a nice touch, also, since they increase contrast with the water more than a blue sky would. It's also a softer backdrop for the trees. I also think you did a pretty neat job on the rocks; they're smooth instead of sharp and angular, as you often see with rocks like that.
Very, very nice work on this image. Definitely a fav. Also I'll take the time to mention that I really love your Akai-Shadow; his design's neat and it's nice seeing a different kind of Shads once in a while, especially in these kinds of pictures. Kudos.
