Working on this made me think up a lot of lore-based questions, ones that I don't have permission to answer. However, that doesn't stop me from thinking and putting my spin on things. Enjoy some theories, nothing is canon after this point:

Knowing that Brono’s antlers aren't real, I figured that after time, while he is free, the paint on his antlers would chip away. After all, since they are no longer being “cared” for by the humans they probably wouldn't be maintained. Another thing that I think is cool and interesting is that his antlers will no longer shed. On the upside, he wouldn't have to shed the velvet. But then I started thinking too much and realized that his alterations must of hurt, that poor baby. I weep for him. But it’s okay because he's enjoying life with his son. Oh! I also love how scruffy his breed of deer looks, so messy.
