Well, Edward is known for his meticulous perfection and germa-phobic nature, so for Marie to drag him -Β kicking and screaming - down to her grungy, white-trash level and distract him from his duties as a model student and all-around good boy with her beautiful goth-meets-punk rocker assets naturally would take its toll on him. Then again, considering the various futures seen in series' episodes in which they're married (as are Ed/May and Eddy/Lee), Marie has her smart, intelligent boo whipped beyond imagining anyway.
It's like that early 90's country song by the band Confederate Railroad, titled - appropriately - "Trashy Women" [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfXs0m⦠], fitting on account of the Kanker's trailer park trash lifestyles.

Poor, poor boy. But still, he's lucky. He's got the hottest of the three, according to many. Too bad that we only see the presumed future in which the cul-de-sac gang is elderly. We didn't see how Marie let herself go to the levels she did in that episode, considering she was fat and not the slender girl she was in her youth. Lemme guess, she probably binged on fatty foods and Edd, being the gentleman, hadn't the heart to stop her, because even if he had, she'd intimidate him. XD
