Description
At the time I created "Loop" (April 2008) I noted the similarities to another picture I'd done the year before, Naien.
After all, both were inspired by fractals created while playing with Apophysis. The fractal's shape inspired the pose again -- in this case a looping branch of the flame made me think this woman would be forever back-flipping through the mathscape...

However, I still considered it an individual work. It wasn't until August of 2009 (with 'Roll') that "Mathscape" started to become a series.

This isn't the original; the original was unfortunately too small. I re-created it larger for this site September 2011.
