Description
I wouldn't consider myself a comic book fan, but I have always liked the Swamp Thing ever since I watched the short-lived cartoon in 1990. I still have my Swamp Trap Playset. Only one set of the plastic yellow flowers on it are missing and the foam that represented the "muck" has long since crumbled away, but every other accessory is there, even the rope/string that came with it.I've since then started collecting the older comic books in the series that specifically appeared in the opening montage to the 1989 movie "The Return of Swamp Thing" because I remember as a kid being blown away by the opening titles while it played CCR's "Born on The Bayou." Do yourself a favor and search out "The Return of Swamp Thing Intro" on yoo toobe right now and you will see how an opening sequence to a comic book movie SHOULD be done today. The movie itself is cheesy as Hell, but that opening sequence is still awesome.
Anyway, here is Swamp Thing's main squeeze, Abby Arcane. She is a tough but caring character, and it's a shame she doesn't get much attention these days because everyone is too busy rubbing it out to Black Widow and Wanda the Witch. The entire Swamp Thing saga needs more respect and attention, mostly for the always interesting artwork but also the surreal storytelling that really gives a sense of horror and mystery.
This is a work of fiction wherein all characters are over the age of 18.
