The sad thing is that this is probably what he'd do. He doesn't mean to, he just doesn't understand when certain things are inappropriate or how his actions affect others. He has a poor theory of mind or the ability to understand other people's point of view. It's okay Sherlock, I don't always consider other people's point-of-view either, I've just never done anything this bad.
