This
Plugin
RAWKS!
Man, I was so pissed when I realized that dA5 consolidated things like comments and faves together, but now, who cares?!? I have a freakin' classic (and much improved) message centre no matter where Firefox takes me in the world.
^.^ (squee!)
I'm gonna pimp this plugin so hard, now.
My roommate will absolutely eat it up.
Thank you so much for sharing the fruits of your labor with us.
Very well done.
Feedback: Firefox 1.5.0.6 shows zero compatability errors with this plugin.

Hi, this may have already been addressed, but I didn't want to weed through 400 comments to check. Anyways, I've installed the plugin on Firefox 1.5 and this may be an unrelated problem, but I can't full-view deviations anymore, nor can I view my own devID. I was wondering if maybe you knew about this already, or if it might just be another problem I'm having.

Hey, I have a suggestion...
You know how if you click it, it takes to your userpage right?
You should have a middle click, which opens it in a new tab, because the middle click opens in a new tab on normal links.
Anyway, thanks!

bluespeed9 In reply to Graduisic [2006-06-28 22:16:31 +0000 UTC]
You change where it takes you and what tab it opens in through the 'Options'.

I have calmed down sufficiently enough to post this here.
The extension was malfunctioning, telling me I had 160 messages when I only had 57. I decided I'd uninstall it because it wasn't working and I'm not a fanatic about messages anyway. I closed Firefox to restart (I have version 1.5.04) and when I reopened it, it had reverted back to the crappy default theme and ALL my options had reverted back too. (It had done the same thing after I installed it), so I had to go back and switch allllll my preferences back. It had also deleted a few months' worth of History I had been keeping.
The main problem however is that it erased all my bookmarks. Every single one of them. If I were an impractical ass I'd be screaming obsceneties here instead.
So yeah, that is a slightly problem there =\

The extension wasn't malfunctioning, the message count issue most likely stemmed from deviantART's servers sending you bad data (it happens a good deal). As for the uninstallation issue, I can't take credit for that either -- if you've any idea how an extension is installed and uninstalled, you should know that an extension cannot cause the issue that you received. Most likely, what happened was that your Firefox user profile was just switched (and no, my extension cannot do this) and your old profile is most likely still there in your user profile directory with all its settings/bookmarks/etc still intact.
Try looking at things from another angle before you go blaming other people for something that you, yourself, did.

TheGreyFellow In reply to bluespeed9 [2006-06-15 15:51:43 +0000 UTC]
I am not blaming you for my bookmarks being erased.
And if my Firefox user profile *was* switched, it had something to do with the extension. I may not know anything about extensions, but I didn't do anything else to my Firefox except install and then uninstall your extension. I've installed other extensions made for Firefox and nothing remotely like this has ever happened.
Considering I didn't actually *do* anything to my Firefox, the logical conclusion that can be reached is that the loss of bookmarks and settings is linked to your extension. How can it be something *I* did? It's not like I sit around pressing random buttons and seeing how much I can screw over my browser. It's the `angle` from which I can look at this. If you want to look at it from the perspective that I messed it up by doing something, the thing that I did was uninstall your extension. If I had been playing around with profiles et al (which I didn't even know existed for Firefox) then that's a different story.

I'm not going to argue with you but I'll leave you with this...
1) Look at the source of the extension and tell me, can it do what you said it did?
2) Does your knowledge of Mozilla's browsers really give you room to make the claims that you're making?
...if you can honestly answer 'yes' to either question, then you're right. Otherwise, think hard, it's most likely an internal issue with Firefox caused by all the sh!t that you had packed into Firefox. In short, try not blaming others for what you've done, you'll find that maybe you'll learn to help yourself more.

It's awesome!! The only bad thing is that instead of bringing it to your page, I'd rather it bringing to the message centre because sometimes I get confused.

Right click on the message count and go to 'Options', you can change that setting under 'Open Link'.
