Reliable | Levelheaded | Farsighted | Warm | Sociable | Sarcastic | Finicky | Meddlesome | Over-analytical | Single-minded
Silvia is quite a responsible and steady girl, able to keep her cool even in a crisis. She's always thinking two steps ahead, working through possible outcomes and repercussions; and while this can be an asset for planning, it's easy for her to get too wrapped up in the lists of pros and cons and end up not coming to a choice at all. Still, in an emergency situation, she does have the capability to make a snap decision, and usually it still turns out alright - but that doesn't mean she won't agonize over it later.
Despite being the more quiet of the two Royal Teas, Silvia is actually quite outgoing and friendly. She's always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone who needs it, whether she knows them well or not, and makes friends with others quickly. She keeps her dorm room door open when she isn't studying or sleeping, and anybody who passes by is free to come in and chat or ask a question if they like.
Although she's normally a patient person, she does have the propensity to get snippy when she's irritated or exasperated by something. Outright yelling isn't really her go-to anger outlet; instead she'll settle for acerbic or passive-aggressive comments, which many think is worse somehow.
One of the things that gives Silvia the most trouble is her perfectionism; she feels that everything has to be just so to be worth presenting, and while she tries not to let this mindset spill over to others' work as well as her own, she can still be somewhat controlling and end up sticking her nose into business that's really getting along fine without her. Similarly, her focus and determination can go a step too far and become an unbending single-mindedness that does more harm than good. Since the disappearance of Lulu Yung, Silvia has withdrawn much more into herself. She still dutifully attends to her responsibility and helps the new Royal Teas however she can, and around others can pretend she's nearly her normal self, but even then she's more quiet than usual. And when she's alone...despair is a strong word, but she's always been one for strong feelings.
█ B a c k g r o u n d
Silvia was born into an upper-middle class family in Hill Valley, near HF Academy; she was the youngest of three sisters (the elder two being twins). She was lucky enough to have kind and loving parents, although they both worked and were frequently absent; she spent most of her childhood in the care of her older sisters, who gave her more or less free reign over the house as long as she didn't break anything. Luckily, she was a relatively calm and good-natured child, although there were certainly some close calls.
Her early childhood was also where her interest in fashion began, incidentally; she has few happier memories than playing dress-up with her sisters before they left for school.
Once she hit middle school age herself, however, things became a little less idyllic. Both her sisters' school performance had been...less than satisfactory, and she had seen them get many a lecture for it. Her parents meant well, she knew, but couldn't they see her sisters were trying their best? In an effort to keep the same disappointed looks from diverting to herself, she threw herself hard into keeping her grades as high as possible - a little harder than was reasonable, perhaps. Externally, her life was as charmed as it ever was, but as the years went by, she put more and more pressure on herself to keep up her performance, sure that if her grades dropped even a little, her family would be disappointed in her. And this was only middle school - how would she handle it when she got to high school?
Her parents were unaware anything was amiss until her last semester of eighth grade, when she had a breakdown at the dinner table over an 80% score on a history test. This resulted in a long and concerned talk that summed up to no, Silvia, you do not have to be perfect, please take care of yourself; Silvia was aware now that she had been blowing the problem way out of proportion, but it was too late; her psychological pattern had been set, justified or no, and even now she struggles with her perfectionism.
She finished middle school (more or less) without incident, and as she was preparing to enter high school she received an invitation from HF Academy. She had heard about the generous boarding school in the woods outside of town, of course, but never really considered it before as an option for a high school. Still, it was free and seemed a lot more appealing than public school, not to mention offering a nice fresh start after her middle school debacle. After a token visit to the campus, she applied and shortly after received a summons to the school for an interview. She learned that she had been accepted - but only if she agreed to the deal proposed by the school's headmistress.
Magic is real, and there are dangerous things that come with it. Help us fight the Parasites, and you may stay and will be provided for. Otherwise you will have to leave.
Silvia was, admittedly, a bit shocked and hesitant to accept at first, but the more she thought about it, the more convinced she became. There was obviously a very serious threat roaming around, and she could help, and the Academy was a very good school, after all...
Despite her initial misgivings, she did adjust quite quickly to the school's environment. She found that she worked better in healing and defending then attack, and worked hard to be the best at what she did, while keeping up her grades as best she could - albeit with somewhat less fervor than she had in middle school. She gained a lot of friends and influence over the course of three years in the Academy, and it paid off; at the end of her third year, she was offered one of the newly-open positions of Royal Tea.
█ T r i v i a She can usually be found in the school's library or the courtyard and garden when she's not in her room. She wanders elsewhere occasionally, but tries to stay in these spots during her down time so people don't have to search the whole school if they need her for something.
She knows all the words to every single High School Musical song. Nobody knows this about her.
Actually, she doesn't even like tea all that much, but by this time she doesn't have the heart to tell anyone.
She can speak English, Spanish, and a bit of French.
She's in the gardening club and is on the swim team.
She plays the clarinet but doesn't tell anyone because she doesn't want to hear the Squidward jokes.
She has a bulletin board on the door of her room where people can request appointments to meet her if they need something.
█ M a g i c a l I n f o r m a t i o n Tea Type: Golden Yunnan Tea
Tea Spirit: Silvia's tea spirit, which she named Soleil, has a sweet and gentle personality that meshes well with Silvia's own. Soleil likes to be helpful and often takes up the task of babysitting the younger and more rambunctious spirits.
Weapon: Dual Fans
Although fairly nondescript at first glance, these fans are what allow Silvia to channel and direct her magic. When in use, the golden segments of the fan glow bright gold.
Classification: Ranged
Stat Type: Attack (summoning her fans grants Silvia her full Magic stat without needing to transform.)
Weapon-Specific Abilities: Multi-Hit, if she had any stats in Strength; she could hit up to 2 targets. But she has no stats in strength, so it doesn't much matter in her case.
Powers
Physical: Virtually nonexistent; she can hit an enemy with one of her fans, but she's about as physically strong as a limp noodle. She's geared more towards defending and healing than attacking.
Magical: Using her fans, Silvia can summon up golden swirls of magical wind with various effects. By directing the wind around various targets, she can heal allies, create shields, or cast spells against enemies as she pleases. Her magic feels pleasantly warm and has a faint hint of citrus scent, similar to her tea type. Stats
