For a first shot I say this is excellently done, pixel art takes a lot of patient and effort and I'd love to see the one with the corrections made, I'm sure it'll leave many breathless ^^

I used Paint Shop Pro. I suppose you could also use Paint Shop to make story books....

I love this. I can respect an artist with this much patience; I don't know many, if any at all.

Extremely well done, I would expect this from someone who has been pixeling for at least 3 months.

The trees are quite nice, the wood texturing looks pretty real. The dithering and shading job on the leave clumps is top-notch as well. They do llok a bit 2-D though, They don't have enough substance.

As ^halfliquid said, the grass does not look like it has been pixeled. It would belong more in this category, and look a fair bit better if it really was pixeled, you could give it more of a wild, long, untrimmed look.

The shading on the walls is nice, it adds contrast to the work, but they seem quite smooth and uniform. Dithered, uneven shading between the grades of colour on the bricks and stones would make it look more organic, more real. More of a variety in shape, colour and texture is needed as well.

The vines and flowers add a very nice touch to the overall image, breaking up the monotony, making it look more like a garden, less like a prison.

It's nice to have shadows from the walls, but it seems wierd that nothing else has them. Shouldn't the rabbits, the small plants and flowers and the trees have shadows as well.

The shading on the walls, gradually getting lighter as you rise is excellent, but it is inconsistant with the rest of the image. Is that to make the walls stand out, or is it for some other reason.

That's all that's really wrong with it that I can see, keep up the good work.

This critique may seem slightly harsh, but keep in mind that I am cririquing you like I would a master pixelartist.

first, no, that did not seem harsh at all.... I wish all my stuff got that much thought out critique.

to address some things you said... I agree about the shadows.... I plan to complete them.

the shading on the walls was done for no other reason than that's what they looked like in the tutorial I followed and I kinda liked 'em

the bricks DO look uniform... I think I jumped the gun in posting this lol

If I post a revised version I hope you'll critique me again

thanks

The grass in this doesn't appear to be done pixel by pixel.

So cool, I love the shading and colors!
The only thing that bugs me, is that fact that the trees don't cast shadows. Still, +fav
