Description
I'm really enjoying this mare, though I tweaked her design a bit more since the last image.

"The mare huffs again, but after a long pause she grumbles, "Fine. Just don't get too close to me." As Rickon finds a suitable spot, the mare watches him out of the corner of her eye. An awkward silence settles over them both. Eventually, the mare attempts to make conversation. "So, where's your big band of mares then? Surely that would be the only thing a stallion like you would care about.""

The mare rolls her eyes for a second time, turning her head away from Rickon in a sassy manner, then snorts. "Fine, you may sit here at a DISTANCE." She grumbled under her breath. Rickon smiled and laid down on the other side of the tree trunk, going along with the awkward silence. "So, where's your big band of mares then? Surely that would be the only thing a stallion like you would care about." The tobiano asked, looking over at the stallion with a furred brow. "Well, that's a funny story. A "stallion like me" only has a filly, my daughter that I adopted." He smirked seeing the surprised look on her face. "I'm Rickon, what's your name?"
The mare scoffed and looked away from him again, then softly mumbled; "LaBarbara..."
"LaBarbara? That's a nice name, and very unique." LaBarbara sneered and shook her head; "Save the compliments, pretty boy." Rickon decided to mess with her and get her back for being so salty. "Oh, so I'm a pretty boy now and not just a stallion who only gets pleasure in collecting mares?" He snickered. The mare whipped her head around, "Shut up!" He busted out laughing, shaking his mane happily. "I'm sorry, I don't normally get to make many jokes to other horses except for my daughter, though she doesn't always get them."
"Well, have you tried making foal-friendly jokes to your filly? Perhaps she will get jokes that revolve around things foals do often, or if you make fun of critters? Foals in my old herd always got a kick out of the jokes one mare made." Rickon grinned and dipped his head, "Thanks for the tip. I will certainly try that. What made you leave your herd?" LaBarbara was silent for a moment, "I wanted to find something more than just follow whatever stallion takes control over my herd. I wanted to BE something, I wanted to be a leader for others like me. A lead mare. Where you didn't have to follow some lousy stallion, just for him to be defeated by a stronger male that would chase away most of the older foals so he can use the mares for his own purpose. That's not for me." Rickon lowered his ears, "Well, I get that...I was almost chased off by a stallion when I was young. He killed my father for my birth herd, but my mother sent me away to keep me safe. I'm pretty sure she felt the same way as you. Otherwise, she would've just let the stallion chase me away with wounds, or just kill me where I stood." LaBarbara's eyes immediately softened, "Oh, that must've been hard..." Rickon nodded, "It was. I was just BARELY old enough to be on my own."
"Well, I guess you're not like the other stallions after all." She turned away for the final time, swishing her tail brazenly. The stallion couldn't help but smile at her response, silently staring out at the field before them.
