Personality:
Jabari is very much a gentleman; graceful and patient in equal measures. He is brave and strong, even as a pup. He has a strong sense of justice and wants to protect his friends and all those who are unable to protect themselves. He isn't afraid to die for his friends or his mission. Mainly due to the loss of his mother at a young age, he became more mature than most hyenas his age and is mentally strong and unlikely to give up. He is usually calm and can be counted upon to do what is in everyone's best interest. Though his logic is sound, his reasoning can be questioned at times. He rarely loses his temper and he can be hasty too, wishing to avenge the demise of those close to him. Anger and sadness may also make Jabari a bit impatient and reckless and would need to be calmed down by others in such situations. He tends to blindly lash out at those who were the cause of him losing his temper and shows some form of grim dedication to punish those who endanger ones he cares deeply for. Jabari is also incredibly curious and loves to explore and discover, fascinated by even the smallest of things. Jabari is usually agreeable, though he can become eerily serious at times. He is also fairly observant, and also has an exceptional memory to the small details in every interaction he both sees and experiences with other creatures. He dislikes making promises, as he knows he cannot always fulfill them. Jabari is very fast and sure of his own speed, but he is still not very strong physically and still has things to learn. He is also fairly humble and admits his mistakes upon realizing them, and does his best to make up for them when he can.

Jabari held great value in family when he was much younger and still does. When his older sister disappeared, as the oldest brother to Zuberi, he was the voice of reason. Often keeping his brother out of trouble and taking on the role as the eldest sibling and leader of the once three siblings when it was presumed their sister was deceased.

History:
Jabari was born in a smaller tribe far away from the current location of the Shemsi with two other siblings, him as the middle child. His mother had passed away shortly after giving birth to him and his siblings due to an injury she had obtained from a lion attack. Jabari had an older sister, named Zina and a younger brother named Zuberi. While his older sister took care of him and their youngest brother, he also played a role in caring for one another, especially when Zina set out to hunt for smaller animals for food. He protected Zuberi from the adults as they saw him as a weak member of the tribe, and wanted to dispose of him as a means to "cut loose ends". This brought out a lot of Jabari's 'mild temper' as he would often threaten and nip at the older hyenas. While his older sister's adventurous side got him and Zuberi into a lot of trouble, he helped get them out of trouble so they still had a tribe to stay in.

When Jabari grew older, he was often picked on by the other young males, especially his little brother. The males would attempt to fight him and in turn frame him for starting it. Thanks to his mostly calm nature, he was able to avoid most of those situations. But when Zuberi was the one in trouble, he lost his temper and revealed weakness to the males that they could use against him. They finally got him to fight them, causing lots of unnecessary injuries to both himself and the other males. He obtained a tear in his right ear and losing a portion of his left ear on the top. But again, Jabari's intelligence and mostly calm nature prevented the other hyenas from successfully framing him for starting the fight. But regardless of his quick thinking, Zina had angered the adults anyway when bashing them for even allowing their youngsters to pick on her brothers in the first place. Unfortunately, the negative confrontations with the other males continued and then eventually went on to attack Zina as well. Jabari was able to calm his sister when it was revealed she was stripped of the possibility of ever-rising up the ranks in her tribe and frowned upon. Soon, the wet season had come around and caused lots of major flooding in the area. Jabari and his little brother panicked when witnessing their eldest sister fall into the floodwaters and be swept away from their grasp. They followed the stream until their legs couldn't carry them any longer. And with Zina gone, it was much harder for the brothers to defend themselves without her help. They finally came to the conclusion that they should leave their tribe to either search for a new tribe or look for their sister. They chose to find their sister, in hopes she was still alive and found a new place to live where they could also stay. Days swiftly turned into months and their searches seemed to always be in vain. It wasn't until Jabari's little brother fell ill that they put their search on pause to rest. He and his brother found a temporary shelter until he was better, spending a few days there. When Jabari left to hunt for food, he came back to find some other hyenas attacking Zuberi. Now filled with extreme anger, Jabari lashed out and blindly fought the other hyenas, despite being greatly outnumbered. In the end, he was left with quite a bit of injury, the worst being on his left front leg. And sadly, Zuberi was fatally wounded, dying from his injuries a few hours later. Filled with grief and frustration toward the hyenas who murdered his brother, Jabari sought revenge. He had completely forgotten about his original mission to find Zina and set out to hunt for his brothers' killers. He certainly found them, but also came across a lion that they were fighting. He watched as they miserably failed to win the fight against the feline. He wasn't totally satisfied with their fate but accepted it, returning to his previous mission. But upon further investigation of his surroundings, he had discovered Wethu. Traveling in the savannah until coming across a hunting party of hyenas. Following them, he found the Shemsi territory. Jabari was excited to find a new territory and immediately wished to join, ready to finally have a place to stay rather than moving from place to place constantly. Meeting the Inaaji, he immediately wanted to show his loyalty by joining the next hunting party. Though rather than helping the hunting party, he went on to search for a better source of prey to return to Shemsi. He managed to find the herd of wildebeest right in the middle of their migration, quickly bringing the hunting party to the location. He and the hunting party managed to bring back the large prey back. Having helped in such a brilliant way for the sake of the tribe, he proved not only his loyalty but also his resourcefulness to Shemsi.

In-Group History:
When Jabari finally found his sister in the very same tribe he had turned to for a new life, he was ecstatic. He wasn't alone anymore, and he got to see his big sis Zee again. She helped him try to make a name for himself within the tribe and hopefully rise within the ranks just like her. When a new queen took over the tribe, he had fallen in love with the young queen who was named Darice. He followed her orders like a child eager for their next toy. A fanboy to a female celebrity.
