Meh, I know he exists, so what's the point?
Claymore deserves more recognition. To me, it's the one series I know of in shonen that isn'tturning itself into pure shit, so I try to believe in it.

We both got that too. You know how those famed shonen (Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece turns into shit and even no or less main character deaths; only villains who die, and a lot of them. Then here's this Naruto "fighting against an imposssible dream of a guy who summons all the super villains (which it's shit actually) and the stuff", showing the good guys will lose, then will turn out to be a victory by good vs. evil by pulling another unbelievable shit.
You gonna hate this stuff I swear it!
The script is predictable then!

Bleach: Clusterfuck. Godmodding. Improbable power. Yeah.
Naruto: FLASHBACKS. THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP BRAINWASHING. The only cool thing left is raikage and killerbee.
One Piece: Never finished it.
Thank god for a mature, down to earth series like claymore.

It doesn't take maturity to like gore, swords and hot women. In fact, that is a very simple appeal... it's the same way with an action movie: it CAN have a message or a deeper meaning, but most people will be there for the explosions and the fighting.

But, I really hate things about sex mixed with action movies. Why is it that the girl is too pretty always? And what's the use of having a girl there anyways? And the time the leading-lady comes it would mean a near case of abuse, mostly escalating to sexually abuse. I hate directors uses women as just instrument of seduction to gain more viewers, while in fact the show could go without them!!!!
I also hate how women portrayed as heroines in a gun movie. It's obviously not natural and women can't do that. Why should we insist of a heroine in a gun fight do runs and jumps, climbs like a ninja, uses a samurai, kills enemies in close combat, somersaults, and end the story victorious having just minor scratches . That a bull of shit to me.

Pretty girl=sex sells. Hollywood knows when a concept works, and will repeat it as long as they can make money off of it.
Well, it's at LEAST a bit of girl power, even if she's usually made a sex object at the same time. I'd rather watch a sexy girl do somersaults while shooting double guns than a sexy man... both cases are just as unrealistic.
I mean, all those stunts- somersaults, the unrealistic accuracy, the guns akimbo, the repeated wounds and they just keep going... it's just as unrealistic when a man does it.

But I see girls worse in doing it, esp. when the girl is so hot and pretty seems that her wounds will be...just scratch, even if she had a sword fight or gun fight with 100 evil minions. And what will be this girl will do after a hard fight? pose and act like a bitch!
And the hollywood really make heriones like "I'm to pretty to die" thing, and I really hate that.Good thing Yagi make his own style...a more realistic one.

Well, the same effing thing happense with a male hero, remember? The girl will look a tad cleaner, because the movie makers like the girls to be looking hot.
You DO know that claymore is king of this thing you're complaining about, right? Eve single one of them looks like a supermodel, and their hair or looks is never, EVER messed up, nomatter how many enemies they have to fight.

We are talking about movies, not anime's in terms of getting the beauty messed up. It is pretty obvious that we cannot make faces in anime distort, not like in real people; that attempt will make more hazzleness in drawing, then takes more time to accomplish. And besides, anime is an art, and you are not suppose to see girls there with a bad face after a fight, but maybe wounds and scratches. And claymore did made faces and heads blown of, only censored/shadowed.
But real movies have to at least put some realistic wound (not the too gross ones) for their heroines. Otherwise, it just tells us viewers that a heroine will never gain a bad wound in battles. In that case I will choose to become a heroine than a hero (change gender, eh?)

This is the sort of thing you have to attest to the willing suspension of disbelief. [link] ANYONE knows it's not realistic, but most people don't let it bug them. The important thing is the story and how it is told.
To say that "anime is art" and therefore exempt from live action cliches is a double standard. It's less obvious in anime, but can be just as annoying.
As for claymore? This applies to all major characters. Any one of them will not have so much as a dropf blood on them unless they were directly wounded.
Well, it's not like girls in mpovies don't get shot. Could you be more specific in what you mean? What movies give examples of this trend you hate so much?

All of the movies??? I mean the DOA, Tekken,Charlies Angels, a ... I think all of the Hollywood movies, except those based in real life ones.
A for the anime, it is really a hard thing to make serious wounds in faces esp. that each seconds of the anime movements makes 8-3 pictures. That's the reason why the anime art is done very simple thatn in manga.

You mean, normal hollywood action movies with girls as the lead.
With the right budget, nothing is impossible.

When you got no budget, you are bruised up because you are ill-equipped in a gunfight.

More abuses she get's when she got to Miria's group after that incident at Pieta. Imagine that torture 7 years and still counting with Cynthia hanging around.

true. then again, look at all the abuse miria has gotten. I'm hoping she'll survive but I'm not expecting much from yagi. only one i expect to really live is clare because of raki, and i don't even expect raki to live.

At the end, only Clare has that contract to live longer in the show. Ok, Mr. Yagi the director, can you the story back and make those dead alive again? Teresa,Irene, Noel, Sophia, Riful, Flora, Undine,Alicia, Beth, Ophelia, Miria (she's not dead) and the rest of the nice characters.
