(part of the Future arc that takes place 16 years after the death of Sarix Morrison)

During the final defeat of Kraticax, all of Reaver's body except for his left hand was vaporized by the arcane blast used to kill Kraticax. The nanomachines in the hand recognized they were the last and started the regeneration process for the whole body from the backup data it made when they were first injected into Reaver. Reaver woke up remembering his name and his hometown and all his memories of his past life as Bret Hayer.

Bret headed back to his small country town in Montana and began a normal life with a middle aged woman he befriended in a local bar. However his past caught up to him when Hexetic found him and used the woman to trap him. Bret defeated Hexetic and saved the woman without losing control to the Reaver personality. He realized after that it would be impossible for him to ever lead a normal life and decided to leave and reassume his role as Sarix's bodyguard.

Unfortunately, he arrived to find that Sarix had sacrificed herself to save her human sister, Lady Farsight, from her demon brother, Tarix. Bret had Lady Farsight create him a new and more powerful power arm and chased after Tarix. Bret fought Tarix and by becoming one with the Reaver personality he was able to severely wound Tarix, but failed to kill him before he escaped. He met one more time with Lady Farsight and told her that he wouldn't rest until Tarix was completely destroyed. It however would be 15 years before Tarix would reappear, until then Reaver spent his time traveling all over the world investigating magical or demonic murders.

Differences from Project Reaver (AKA 1.0):
- No impenetrable wings, but greater agility, reflexes, and speed to compensate.
- Plasma cannon embedded in the palm and forearm of the improved power arm.
- carries a strong alloy katana that never dulls
- no longer has a split personality between Bret and the Reaver. Essentially regained his humanity and can make informed decisions now.
- Can still use the power arm for super strong punches
- power arm also can extend the 4 fingers as a razor chain whip. Can launch them and retract them at high speeds but they have a limited range of 5 meters
