usually analogies work really well for me. when i was going through this i had a moment where it clicked in my head that this exercise ive seen in cooking. i didn’t have any plans when i started doing this practice. but midway through i realized next time im gonna do it like how you practice chopping. of trying to make the lines straight as possible but also keeping everything roughly the same size. this wasn’t anything major but i could already see which directions felt easier than others. namely the ones where i pushed the pen rather than dragging it. next time im gonna try to keep everything more even but this was good to figure out where to start.
